Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer

​Key Responsibilities​

• Review software requirements, specifications, and project documentation to identify testing requirements.

• Prepare detailed test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and checklists.

• Perform functional, regression, integration, usability, compatibility, and exploratory testing.

• Test web applications, mobile applications, APIs, dashboards, and other software products.

• Identify, reproduce, document, and report software defects with clear steps, screenshots, videos, logs, and other necessary information.

• Track reported bugs and verify fixes before release.

• Perform regression testing after bug fixes and feature updates.

• Validate completed features against approved requirements and acceptance criteria.

• Work closely with developers and project team members to resolve quality-related issues.

• Identify edge cases, usability problems, inconsistencies, and potential risks before software delivery.

• Participate in requirement discussions and provide QA feedback when necessary.

• Maintain proper QA documentation and testing reports.

• Ensure that software releases meet RootDevs' expected quality standards before deployment or delivery.

• Continuously improve testing processes, documentation, and overall software quality.

​Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2–3 years of proven professional experience in Software Quality Assurance.

• Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and software development processes.

• Strong knowledge of manual software testing methodologies and techniques.

• Experience preparing professional test cases, test scenarios, bug reports, and QA documentation.

• Experience testing web and/or mobile applications.

• Good understanding of functional, regression, integration, compatibility, usability, and exploratory testing.

• Ability to identify complex bugs and reproduce issues consistently.

• Familiarity with bug tracking and project management tools such as Jira, ClickUp, Trello, Linear, or similar platforms.

• Basic understanding of REST APIs and API testing tools such as Postman.

• Basic knowledge of databases and SQL will be an advantage.

• Experience with automated testing tools/frameworks will be an advantage.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple testing tasks and priorities simultaneously.

• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with developers and other team members.
